Central and Dubuque square off today in the Iowa Conference football opener for both squads, and it’s an early road test for the Dutch. The high-flying Spartans are averaging 29-points per game despite starting 1-2 against three very difficult non-conference opponents from the Wisconsin Conference. Central almost upset Wisconsin-Oshkosh in its season opener, but beat Augustana and Albion by a combined 48 points to close non-conference action with a 2-1 record. Dutch Head Coach Jeff McMartin says that today’s game is very important for his club, because it’s the next game on their schedule. Kickoff today is at 1:00 in Dubuque. Join Trevor Castle and Cory Houser for the broadcast, beginning with our pre-game show at 12:40 on 92.1 KRLS and www.kniakrls.com.
