Around noon today, a dead tree being removed from the property of 209 SW Main Street in Melcher fell into the adjacent parking lot. The tree took down a power line and landed on two vehicles which were parked in the lot. MidAmerican Energy was called to remove the line, and the property owner’s insurance was called for the damage to the 1989 Ford F-250 owned by Dishon Clark and a newer Chevy Equinox, owned by Karen Anderson, of Melcher. The property owner, Amos Spoon, tells KNIA KRLS News that the tree, the second of two being removed, was blown the wrong way by a strong gust of wind. He says nobody was hurt in the accident.
