Twenty-one first quarter points were well more than enough for the Central football team to take care of a lowly Loras squad on Saturday, winning 48 – 3 in dominating fashion. The Duhawks used early momentum from a change of head coach 24 hours prior to kick-off and put together an impressive drive. Their momentum would be short-lived, however, as the drive stalled after quarterback Dylan Jones was sacked and fumbled the ball resulting in a turnover. A few plays later, Aaron Eiseler found Josh Osborn for a 35-yard reception for a touchdown. After a Jack Norgaard score following an interception, the Dutch struck again with a family connection. Mitchell Boerm caught a nine yard pass from his older brother, Brendon to take a 21 – 0 lead after just 15 minutes of play. Up 41 – 3 in the fourth, Sam Norgaard followed in his brother, Jack’s footsteps, scooping up a 15 yard fumble recovery to cap off the scoring for the Dutch. Central outgained the Duhawks 348 – 164, and 220 – 90 on the ground and forced four turnovers. The Dutch improve to 5 – 3 and 3 – 2 in the Iowa Conference. Next up is a trip to Waverly to face the Knights of Wartburg on Saturday night in a huge league match-up.
