A big first half was enough for the Central women’s basketball team to defeat Waldorf on Saturday, 64 – 55. The Dutch women raced out to a 38 – 24 lead going into the locker room and held on after shooting 34% from the field in the second half. Despite going 4-for-17 from three-point range, the Dutch were still able to shoot nearly 43% for the game and 77% from the free throw line. Three Central players were in double figures, led by Kenzie Vander Molen with 19, Kaitlin Stump had 14 off the bench and Rachel Evans threw in ten. Central improves to 3 – 0 on the season and will try to match their longest winning streak in the last six seasons with a win over Nebraska Wesleyan this Tuesday.
