Daylight Saving Time is Saturday night/Sunday morning, and this time you get to “fall back” and gain an hour. An interesting piece of information given to KNIA/KRLS News by David Prerau, (Prayer-Ow) author of Seize the Daylight: The Curious and Contentious Story of Daylight Saving Time, is that there is actually a net decrease in motor accidents due to the time change. Prerau says that there is an increase in accidents in the morning with the extra hour of darkness, but with a higher number of accidents saved during the afternoon with the extra hour of light, there is definitely a net gain. Prerau continues by saying that many countries such England consider this the number 1 benefit. Your clocks will need to move back an hour at 2am Sunday morning, however, most people find it more convenient to switch their clocks before bed Saturday night.
