A multi-agency training exercise simulating a terrorist attack was recently conducted in Knoxville, at the VA campus. Marion County Emergency Management and Public Health worked together to coordinate the event. David Yandon, Exercise Coordinator with the US Army North, Civil Support Training Activity, Charlie Division from Ft. Sam Houston and San Antonio, Texas, commends Marion County fire and rescue squads, telling KNIA KRLS News that the support received from the local community means that the team will come back to Marion County for subsequent training exercises. Knoxville Fire and Rescue, Knoxville Township Rural Fire Department, Pella Fire Department, Pella Ambulance, Melcher-Dallas Fire, Pleasantville Emergency Services, and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office all took part in the exercise.
