Pella High head coach, Catie Brand said her girls were focused and ready to play last night, and they sure showed it, winning in straight sets over Knoxville in the Class 4A regional semifinal volleyball tournament. Pella won 25 – 16, 25 – 23 and 25 – 20. Game one was marred with kill errors by the Panthers as the Lady Dutch were able to seize control midway through the set. Pella led set two 24 – 17, before Knoxville made a 6 – 0 run to make things interesting before having the door shut on them. Coach Catie Brand said her girls really meshed together to pull out the win. For the Lady Dutch, Jessica Holterhaus had ten kills and Shannon Ewing had eight, while Taelor Rempe came up with 15 digs. The Lady Dutch advance to the regional finals this Tuesday to play Indianola who swept Norwalk in three straight sets, with a trip to the state tournament on the line.
