With the amount of competition each team brought this season, the Little Hawkeye Conference on the volleyball courts was ripe for the taking. Newton had several talented seniors, as did Pella. Dallas Center-Grimes was a mystery newcomer to the league; nobody knew what kinds of challenges the Fillies would bring. Knoxville, Grinnell and Pella Christian were all scrappy teams that wouldn’t lay down for anybody. Oskaloosa’s only conference win was against Dallas Center-Grimes, who finished 5 – 2 in the L-H-C. The hardest question posed to our conference’s coaches was, “Which team will win the Little Hawkeye Conference in 2013?” Newton and Pella each finished 6 – 1, but the only loss Pella suffered was at the hands of the Cardinals. The Eagles were 3 – 4 in league play.
