PCM faces a stiff task early on in their girls’ basketball season when they pay a visit to Nevada tonight to face the Cubs. Nevada and North Polk were the two schools that battled all year long for a Heart of Iowa Conference championship in 2012-13, and based on who they have coming back, Coach Bret Grier says those two schools will be near the top once again. Grier adds that the Cubs could be a top ranked team from the beginning of the season to the end because of the amount of scoring they return. PCM is 0 – 1 right now, after losing by three to Knoxville on Friday, 59 – 56. The Cubs just played Boone at home last night for their first game. This evening’s affair will start at 7:30 p.m.
