Pleasantville’s girls’ basketball team is on the road tonight for their first game of the 2013-14 season, as they head to Eddyville-Blakesburg for a non-conference bout. Kennedy Core again leads the offensive charge for the Trojans this year, a team that didn’t lose much in the way of seniors, and is still heavily dominated by younger athletes. The roster has five sophomores, two juniors and two seniors with more possibly being added by the end of the season. Looking to match last season’s win total in one fell swoop, Coach Aaron Fichter says tonight will come down to more of what his team does rather than what the Rockets do. Eddyville-Blakesburg won 15 games a season ago and parted with several seniors, but they bring back key players such as state volleyball stand-out, Tasha Alexander. Tonight’s game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off.
