The Pella Police Department has concluded a theft investigation with the arrests of Tonya Kleinendorst of Pella, and Bruce Broome of Junction City, Kansas. An investigation began November 7th when the Pella Police Department received a report of theft from a local bank. The department used bank records, and video footage to identify the perpetrators, before making the arrests on November 8th. The suspects were apprehended in the Community First Credit Union parking lot after attempting to open another bank account. The defendants are charged with: Theft in the second degree; a class D felony, and Ongoing Criminal Conduct; a class B felony. Broome was also arrested and held on two outstanding arrest warrants out of Kansas. Kleinendorst has been released, while Broome is currently in the Marion County Jail awaiting extradition.
