Making it to the regional finals one year ago, the Twin Cedars girls’ basketball team will miss quite a bit of talent this season when they start playing after the Thanksgiving break. The Sabers won 21 games last year, and this season, are without two of their top three scorers in Alee Hugen and Ayla Crosby. However, back for another go are a talented group of seniors and young players, led by Brittney Roby who was second only to Hugen in scoring last year. First year head coach, Mike Strasko says he’s excited for the 2013-14 season to get going because of the amount of growth he feels his players will show throughout the next three months. Strasko adds he’s going to implement his own style of play to add to the skills his athletes possess already. The Sabers begin their season at home against Wayne on December 3.
