The Central men’s basketball team got back on the right track and women set a new program record last night in Minnesota. The Dutch men defeated Bethany Lutheran very handily, 96 – 64. Four players found double figures, led by Nate Munn who had 19 points off the bench. Kevin Kaerwer had 13, Nile Eckermann and Fred Pratt each scored 11. Central’s women had to recover from a 14-point first half hole to win 65 – 58. Four Central women as well hit double digits, with Kenzie Vander Molen and Rachel Evans each scoring 14, Courtney Kelderman had 13 and Kaitlin Stump dumped in ten of her own. Central’s women are 6 – 0 to start the season for the first time in program history, and the men improve to 4 – 3. Each team will play Martin Luther up in Minnesota later today.
