You may be wondering what to do with that tree now that Christmas is over. Marion County Naturalist Marla Mertz says that the Conservation Board will collect trees in Knoxville on Thursday January 2 from 8 to noon, and the pickup routes will only be driven once. Remove all decorations, stands and metal from the tree, and do not place it in a plastic bag. She also says there will be a tree drop off site near the entrance of the Marion County Park between December 26 and January 15. All trees will be used for wildlife cover and fisheries habitat in conservation board areas.
