The Knoxville Girls Basketball Squad clamped down on defense against Grinnell last night and outlasted the Tigers 45-36. The Panthers also got production from the free throw line going 17/29 including 10/14 in the fourth quarter. Knoxville Coach Jim Utiermarkt told KNIA/KRLS Sports the effort for four quarter was the key. Meredith Cunningham led the Panthers with 17 points and Ashley Hawkshead added 12. Knoxville is now 2-1 one and starts Little Hawkeye Conference 1-0. The boys fell behind early and lost 77-37 last night. Trent Davis led the Panthers with eight points. Knoxville is now 0-2 on the season and 0-1 in the conference, Knoxville will travel to Centerville on Monday.
