The Altoona Police Department reports that Monday at approximately 12:37 am, the Burger King Restaurant at 3300 Adventureland Drive was reportedly robbed by a lone gunman. The employee victim alleged that a suspect wearing a ski mask approached him with a handgun as he was closing the business and demanded cash. The suspect allegedly punched the employee with a fist before fleeing in a Jeep-type vehicle. He escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash from the store’s safe.
An investigation revealed that the suspect was known to the employee and the two conspired to conduct the robbery. Today, with the assistance of Knoxville Police Department and Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Altoona police officers arrested: Andrew Lloyd Potter, 21, of Knoxville and Edis Elvis Gracanin, 19, of Des Moines. A search warrant was executed at the residence of Potter. Both were charged with Theft- 2nd Degree, a class D felony and Conspiracy to Commit a Forcible Felony, a class C felony. In addition, Gracanin was charged with False Reports, an aggravated misdemeanor.
Andrew Lloyd Potter is being held in the Marion County Jail and Edis Elvis Gracanin was transported to the Polk County Jail.
