The PCM boys’ and girls’ basketball teams found their first wins of the season last night against Gilbert. The Mustangs’ ladies won 64 – 39, thanks to a huge third quarter effort that saw PCM outscore their opponents 20 – 4. Courtney VanHouweling had a near double-double with 11 points and nine assists, Rachel Gulling led her team in scoring with 16 points and Abbi Gilson dumped in 11 of her own. Meanwhile, the boys had a seemingly easy time with the Tigers, prevailing 93 – 62. Dillon Bruxvoort had a game-high 28 points, Logan Gillman bucketed 18 of his own, and Trey Lindsay had 14 for the Mustangs’ boys, who are 1 – 0 to begin the year, while the girls improve to 1 – 2. They will each be in action this Friday night against Greene County.
