The Road Runners of I-35 High School swept the Pleasantville boys and girls basketball teams on Tuesday night. The Pleasantville girls started the night off by falling to I-35, 46-33. The Trojans battled back from a 16-2 first quarter deficit for the second straight game to take the lead in the third quarter but foul trouble allowed the Road Runners to pull away late for the victory. Junior Kennedy Core led the Trojans in scoring with 13 points. The Trojans fall to 1-6 on the year. The Pleasantville boys dropped a heartbreaking loss to I-35 on Tuesday night, 65-64 in overtime. The Road Runners had a two point lead with 11 seconds to go when Junior Hagen Fouch hit a jump shot just inside the free throw line to send the game to overtime where I-35 would pull away for the win. Although they lost, Head Coach Tom Wilkins was proud of his team’s effort. Junior Josh Luna led all Trojans with 23 points on the night. Pleasantville falls to 4-2 on the season. Both the boys and girls will travel to Bedford on Thursday night.
