Twin Cedars had a rough day trying to defeat Murray on Tuesday. The girls had a 13 – 5 lead after the first quarter but couldn’t get the cover off the hoop and they fell 48 – 35. Brittney Roby put in 30 of the team’s 35 points and grabbed seven rebounds. The Sabers’ boys took the Mustangs to overtime, but lost 61 – 51. Three of Twin Cedars’ starters fouled out in the third quarter, which fueled the Mustangs’ run in the extra minutes. Dylan Springer was one of those that had to leave the game, but scored a team-high 21 points before he did. Melcher-Dallas’ girls prevailed over Mormon Trail, 49 – 26. Hannah Wilson had 14 points, and MacKenzie Suntken had a near triple-double, with nine points, eight rebounds and six assists. The boys fell in their game, 78 – 48. Chase Wetterling led with 27 points. Twin Cedars’ teams each fall to 3 – 4, the Saints’ girls are 4 – 4, and the boys sit with a 2 – 5 record. The Saints are at Seymour next on Thursday, and the Sabers play Ankeny Christian Academy on Friday.
