It was a rough night for our other area teams in basketball action yesterday. Melcher-Dallas was swept by Murray; the girls dropped 52 – 23. MacKenzie Suntken finished with a team-high 11 points. Chase Wetterling’s 17 points was the only highlight in a 72 – 30 Saints’ boys’ loss to the Mustangs. Melcher-Dallas was down 20 – 9 after the first quarter. Meanwhile, Twin Cedars’ boys were able to come away with a big 69 – 65 win over a state team from a year ago, Ankeny Christian Academy. The girls fell in their game, 50 – 35. Both schools are done until the calendar turns to 2014.
