Not being strong on the glass cost the Central men’s basketball team last night in their loss to William Penn, 92 – 67. Central was out-rebounded 59 – 36 by the Statesmen overall, and 24 – 9 on the offensive glass. Coach Craig Douma said after the game his defense forced William Penn to take the shots they didn’t want to take, but again, the game came down to rebounding. Matt Greenfield led all scorers on the court with 28 points and he collected seven rebounds, and Colby Taylor and Kevin Kaerwer each threw in 13 apiece. Central falls to 3 – 3 on the year, and they’ll head up north to Minnesota this Friday and Saturday for a pair of games.
