With most girls’ teams getting at least one game under their belt before the holiday break, Twin Cedars will actually be playing in their first contest of the new season tonight at home against Wayne. The lady Sabers parted with several talented seniors from last year’s squad that was one game away from a trip to Des Moines and the Class 1A state tournament. Brittney Roby is the lone returning starter for the Sabers’ girls. The boys this season will be missing the presence of Derek Springer who passed away this past summer in a car accident. However, the Sabers do return several key seniors, including Brent Parker, Garrett Pettyjohn, Hunter Embray, Dylan Springer, Coy Moore and Collin Still. Twin Cedars’ girls tip-off tonight at six.
