Knoxville hosts Newton in basketball tonight. The Panthers are coming off a sweep of Oskaloosa on Tuesday. The girls have been playing better in the paint and getting more points per game there as well. Coach Jim Utiermarkt says as the points in the paint improve, the outside shooting will likely get better. The inside and rebounding game will be important tonight as Knoxville will be facing the top ranked rebounding team in the Little Hawkeye Conference. The boys hope Tuesday’s comeback victory from 15 points down is a spring board to better days ahead. Knoxville will have to contend with Newton size on the inside.
