The Pella boys’ and girls’ basketball teams earned a sweep Tuesday night in Norwalk. In the first game, the girls fell behind 7-1 midway through the first quarter before going on a 32-7 run over the next 20 minutes of play and finished with a 50 – 25 victory. Pella High was led offensively by Jessica Holterhaus who scored 13 points. The win was the third in a row for the Dutch who improved to 7-4 on the season. In the boys contest, Isaac Naaktgeboren torched the Norwalk defense for 19 of his 23 total points in the second half, to go with nine rebounds, and 10-10 shooting from the foul stripe, to lead his team to a 73 – 54 win. Naaktgeboren talks about his strategy in the second half. The win improves the Dutch to 8-2 overall with a boys/girls doubleheader up next Friday night at home versus Newton.
