Marion County Naturalist Marla Mertz says that The Marion County Conservation Board will be collecting Christmas trees in Knoxville today. The conservation Board requests that trees be placed next to the street curb before 8:00 a.m. today. The pickup routes will only be driven once. The trees need to be free from all decorations, wire hangers and stands, and must not placed in a plastic bag.
If you are unable to get your tree to the curb in the morning, Mertz says that there is a tree drop-off site near the entrance of the Marion County Park until January 15. All trees will be used for wildlife cover and fisheries habitat in conservation board areas.
