In their final two games of 2013, the Pleasantville girls’ basketball team had to battle back from a huge deficit in the first quarter. Against both Martensdale-St. Mary’s and I-35, the Trojans trailed 16 – 2 at some point in the first eight minutes. Coach Aaron Fichter says that though it is up to his girls to be ready to play when that ball gets thrown into the air at center court, he does shoulder some of the blame for the slow starts. One big thing for the Trojans though is that they were able to battle back and get within striking distance, and even take a lead in their game with the Blue Devils.
