Having a larger team to deal with, Coach Joe Burch of Pella High wrestling has a goal this season of sending more of his grapplers to state. The good news for the Little Dutch is that they will not be wrestling the likes of Southeast Polk in their sectional in February. The bad news is they are now lumped into a group including Iowa City High and Iowa City West, Marshalltown, Ottumwa and Cedar Rapids Prairie to name a few. Coach Burch says that their goal of making it to state isn’t something that’s achieved right now; it’s a build-up of their experiences and it comes down to one day at a time. The sectional tournament is scheduled for February 15 in Newton for Pella. Their next regular season meet is this Thursday at Norwalk.
