Both Pella and Knoxville’s girls’ basketball teams have notched five wins on the season, and tonight, one of them will achieve their sixth. The Lady Dutch and Panthers square off in a battle between a pair of teams that, on paper, are very evenly matched. The two schools are averaging close to 51 points per game, are shooting roughly the same percentage from the field, and are grabbing nearly the same amount of rebounds per game. The one distinct advantage Pella has over Knoxville is on the offensive glass. The Lady Dutch have grabbed nearly 50 more offensive rebounds than the Panthers, and are averaging three more per game. Coach Jerod Garland says that he hopes his team can grab a few more boards than they did against Pella Christian on Tuesday. Tonight’s girls’ game can be heard live on 92.1 KRLS, AM 1320 and FM 95.3 KNIA. Pregame coverage of the girls’ game starts at 6:00 p.m. with tip-off at 6:15.
