Two of our local athletes signed their letters of intent with a pair of Iowa colleges yesterday. With their John Hancock’s, Twin Cedars’ stars Corey Harrell and Hunter Embray each will be playing baseball at a higher level starting this fall. Harrell signed with Southeastern Community College in West Burlington, while Embray will play ball with Marshalltown. Harrell says knowing what’s going to happen after high school graduation is a big load off of his mind. The Sabers’ backstop says that Marshalltown was a great fit for him because they share many of his same values. Embray is currently playing basketball while Harrell will be doing the throwing events for the track team this spring. However, both say they are very excited for the baseball season to try for one last run at a state championship.
