The Central women’s basketball team is trying to slap together a win to get to ten on the season, but will have to go through Coe this afternoon to get there. The Dutch fell to the Kohawks 61 – 44 a week-and-a-half ago; in fact, Central hasn’t scored more than 50 points in a game or shot better than 40% from the field in a half since their loss to Buena Vista two weeks ago, and only once in their last five games. Coach Chelsea Petersen says they need to focus on slowing down one key Kohawk star. Central’s men clinched a berth in the Iowa Conference tournament with their slim win over Simpson on Wednesday. The score was 74 – 63 in favor of the Dutch when these two teams did battle the first time this season. You can hear today’s doubleheader in Cedar Rapids live on 92.1 KRLS and streamed live at with Cory Houser on the play-by-play. Pregame starts at 3:45 p.m. with tip-off of the women’s game at 4:00.
