The Pella Christian girls’ basketball team fought through a slow start in the first half and finished strong with a 46 – 33 victory over Oskaloosa last night. The Eagles scored 31 second half points and limited the Indians to just two fourth quarter points. Tessa Howerzyl scored 11 to lead all scorers on the court. Pella Christian’s boys were strong after the first quarter and breezed by Oskaloosa, 77 – 46. Coach Larry Hessing says the way his team played last night didn’t really surprise him. Coltin Collins went 7-for-7 shooting in the first quarter, and finished 12-of-14 for 24 points. Both Pella Christian teams improve to 7 – 10, and they’ve already begun preparations for the second act of the Tulip City Rivalry against Pella on Tuesday.
