Nate Haveman sunk three free throws with a tenth of a second left to lift Pella Christian to a 49-46 win over Knoxville in Boys Basketball last night. A slow moving game kicked it into another gear in the fourth quarter when Pella Christian jumped out to a nine-point lead with 6:23 remaining, but Knoxville would go on a 13-4 blitz highlighted by a Bryce Zoutte three with 58 seconds left to tie it at 46. The two teams had several chances to take the lead but Haveman’s free throws did the job. Knoxville Coach Jeff Larson said his team made shots when they needed. Larson added that offensive rebounding was the key as Pella Christian got second and third chances all game long. Knoxville falls to 5-15 on the season and three-and-ten in the conference while Pella Christian improves to 7-12 and 4-8 in the conference.
