They have struggled lately, but the Pella Christian boys’ basketball team knows that once the postseason hits, all of the bigger schools they’ve been playing will do more good than bad. The Eagles’ win over Knoxville on Tuesday was only their second win in their last nine games. One player that has started to liven up a bit over the last few games, is junior Jason Holwerda. He has just three points per game on average, but scored six in the win over the Panthers, both of them coming from beyond the arc in key moments of the game. Coach Larry Hessing says that Holwerda’s talents are found more than just on the offensive side of the ball. The Eagles’ junior is third on the team in steals and fourth in assists and blocks. Pella Christian concludes the regular season with a trip to Grinnell this Friday.
