Marion County’s Chief Deputy Assessor has a songwriting hobby that is paying off. Kelli Courtney, of Knoxville, says she has had a love for old country music and Bluegrass her whole life, and currently performs with a band called Raydio Flyer. This past June, she was compelled to start writing songs, and recently that paid off. She entered a contest online, on The Farm Hands Quartet’s website, and submitted three entries. She said out of about 70 songs, her tune “Down This Old Gravel Road” was selected as the winner. She says she will continue to perform with Raydio Flyer, and will keep writing.
