On Sunday, from 1 to 4 at Peace Tree Brewing Company in Knoxville, in honor of President’s Day, the Marion County Democrats will host a potluck soup lunch, and play Presidents Bingo. Treasurer Phyllis Weeks says the Legislative Education Committee came up with the idea to break the monotony of winter, to just have a little fun and have a social gathering. She says it is not specifically a political gathering, and they would like to encourage young people and families to come and enjoy soup and a glass of Peace Tree Root Beer. Weeks says some 2014 candidates have been invited, and schedules permitting, they may drop in for awhile. Weeks invites anyone in attendance to share a snack or dessert, as well. Peace Tree will be open for business as usual Sunday afternoon as well.
