Perry blitzed Knoxville in the class 4A girls regional semi-finals Saturday night 62-35 to end the Panthers season. The Bluejays used a 14/two surge in the final 4:02 of the second quarter to gain a 19-point halftime lead. Perry’s full court pressure and half-court defense was too much for Knoxville to handle. Coach Jim Utiermarkt told KNIA/KRLS that along with turnovers was a lot to overcome. Ashley Hawkshead lead the Panthers with 12 points, Knoxville finishes up 10-13 and loses two seniors in Jamie Hunt and Jory Wallace.
