The Pella City Council met last night. The renewal of Class C Beer Permits for two Casey’s General stores was approved, while a rezoning request for 2485 Highway 163 was tabled over concerns about building requirements. Petitions were passed regarding the Color Blast 5k, and the Resurrected Tin’s 35th Annual Car Show. A resolution was also approved for the leasing of 400 square feet of the Molengracht Plaza to be used by Monarchs for outdoor dining. After the council adjourned, a request was made by a group of homeowners to create the Collegiate Historic District that would create building requirements for new homes or structures built in the two block area near Central College. Improvements to lamp post and dying trees on the Molengracht Plaza was also discussed.
