Perry blitzed Knoxville in the class 4A girls regional semi-finals last night 62-35 to end the Panthers season. The Bluejays used a 14-2 surge in the final 4:02 of the second quarter to gain a 19-point halftime lead. Perry’s full court pressure and half-court defense was too much for Knoxville to handle, and Coach Jim Utiermarkt told KNIA/KRLS their defense caused turnovers and allowed Knoxville nearly nothing offensively. Ashley Hawkshead lead the Panthers with 12 points, Knoxville finishes up 10-13.
