With a few extra days of rest and practice behind them, Pleasantville and Twin Cedars’ boys’ basketball teams will finally get to work on the hardwood tonight in their second round match-ups in the Class 1A district tournament. Twin Cedars is on the road against a three-win Maharishi team that comes out of a tough conference featuring Notre Dame, Burlington. Pleasantville doesn’t play any slouches, either, in the Pride of Iowa Conference, and they have to get through Grandview Park Baptist to make it to the district semifinals next week. Going back to January 27, the Trojans have played a grueling nine games in a total of just 18 days because of all the postponements with the weather. Coach Tom Wilkins says the extra couple of nights of rest his team has received can only help. Pleasantville’s game can be heard live on with Kris Krug and Ed Bull on the call. Pregame coverage starts at 7:45 p.m. with tip-off at 8:00.
