The Central women’s basketball team has lost six straight but can end that and perhaps turn their season around with a win over first-place Loras today. The Dutch’s slow start is what did them in during their first meet-up with the DuHawks when they fell 71 – 63. As has been the case this season, Central needs someone other than Kenzie Vander Molen to step up and shoulder some of the load offensively. Coach Craig Douma and his gang have won three straight Iowa Conference contests and are in second place in the league. Loras edged the Dutch 70 – 60 two weeks ago in their first face-off this season. Their big push towards the postseason started on Wednesday, Douma says, and he adds that a win today would be huge looking ahead to the postseason. You can hear this afternoon’s doubleheader live on 92.1 KRLS and streamed live at with Cory Houser and Jim Dingeman on the call. Pregame coverage starts at 1:45 p.m. with tip-off at 2:00.
