Pleasantville’s squads earned a weekend break with a sweep of Lenox yesterday. The girls won 64 – 48; the Trojans got out to a 20-plus point lead and held on despite a late charge by their opponents. Kennedy Core had 28 points and nine boards while Trisha Kunze added a quarter-century of her own. Pleasantville’s boys were exhausted, said Coach Tom Wilkins, but gutted their way to a 50 – 45 victory. Josh Luna made five shots beyond the arc to finish with 17 on the week and 19 points on the day. Trever Zoss had 14 of his own, as Pleasantville’s girls improve to 4 – 13 and the boys are now 13 – 3, and have won their last nine. The Trojans will now head to I-35 for their next test on Tuesday.
