Pella High hosted Norwalk Tuesday night on senior night. The girls’ squad only had one senior to celebrate, Jackie Sunderman, who had 11 points, second only to the 16 scored by junior Jessica Holterhaus. The Lady Dutch did get a 46-38 victory to improve to 14-6 overall. The Pella boys kept the crowd cheering as they jumped out to a 19-4 lead at the end of the first, and held on for a 70-61 victory. Nathan Clayberg notched a double-double with 12 points and 13 boards. The turning point came in the fourth with Norwalk down just five points when Isaac Naaktgeboren blocked shots and then grabbed the ensuing rebounds on back-to-back possessions leading to transition baskets in both cases. The win improves the boys’ squad to 16-3, with the final conference games coming Friday night when Pella travels to Newton.
