Twelve innings, two runs was the output of work by the Central pitching staff on Wednesday en route to a pair of victories. The Dutch started the day with a 10 – 2, five-inning victory over La Verne. Mallory Schulenberg earned the win pitching five innings and giving up just two runs on five hits. Four Dutch knocked in two runs apiece in the contest. Trisha Smith and Brie Haycraft combined for a seven-inning, four-hit shutout of Pomona-Pitzer in the nightcap in a 6 – 0 Dutch win. Annie Sarcone was 2-for-3 at the plate with two RBI’s. Central is now 9 – 3 on the season, and they’ll play Whittier and Chapman from California later today. You can hear the game against Whittier on under the KNIA2 stream with Larry Happel on the call.
