A team that has made a lot of noise over the last several seasons, the PCM boys’ golf squad is ready to hit the links again, but without a few familiar faces. One of the biggest names on the team, Hunter Van Veen, graduated as a senior last year and is currently playing golf at DMACC. However, first-year head coach and PGA coach, John Shawver, says he still brings back a lot of talent. In fact, the numbers are up as compared to last year and each class is pretty balanced. Shawver says the team’s goals are mostly the same from last year, but at the moment, they are just taking things one meet at a time. That will start with the Mustangs’ first meet, a triangular at home in Monroe against Eddyville-Blakesburg and Lynnville-Sully on April 8.
