Democrat Megan Suhr of Knoxville will challenge House District 28 incumbent Greg Heartsill, a Republican from Columbia for a seat in the Iowa House. In an email to supporters Suhr informs them:

“I have decided to run again in the election for the Iowa House of Representatives. Many constituents throughout the district have contacted me to ask me to be their candidate. It is with their support and encouragement that I am happy to announce that I have filed the nomination papers to be the Democratic candidate for House District 28. The nomination and petitions have been received and accepted, and I will officially be on the ballot in June and November, without a primary opponent. It is an honor to have the confidence and support of so many people throughout the district. I’m looking forward to the opportunity.”

Heartsill also faces a Republican Challenger in the June 3 Primary, Jon Van Wyk of Sully.
