Pella Christian’s girls’ basketball team started off hot but cooled down a little bit before 2013 came to a close. They earned non-conference wins over Martensdale-St. Mary’s and Albia, but fell to Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, Dallas Center-Grimes and PCM. Coach Kevin Van Maanen says that the girls were trying to find their identity and played more like a team after the Christmas break. The Eagles return all but Savanna Baugh and Lauren Jungling for next season’s team in 2014-15.
