In first place entering Monday’s final day, the Central men’s golf team just couldn’t hang onto their slim two-stroke lead and found themselves settling for third in the Webster Gorlok Invitational. The Dutch finished behind Spalding and Dubuque by just one stroke for the team title. Jared Nepomuceno shot a second round 78 to finish with a total of 150, while Adam Squires, who was named Iowa Conference golfer of the week, followed up his first round 69 with an 83 to shoot 152. Central is back in action Friday and Saturday for the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational in Normal, Illinois.
