A sweep of Loras last night reserved a spot in the postseason tournament for Central’s baseball team. The Dutch took game one 7 – 4 in a contest that saw some early fireworks. The two schools put up eight runs in the first frame alone, five of them on the side of Central. The inning was highlighted by three consecutive hits from Jordan Judkins, Andrew O’Toole and Robbie Rushing, who made the 360-foot jog around the bases for an inside-the-park home run. Judson McKown pitched the complete game, giving up four runs on nine hits to earn his fourth win of the season. The Dutch put up a crooked number in two innings to take the nightcap 7 – 3. Dakota Wolken earned the win, going seven-and-two-third and giving up two runs. Adam Ariola was 3-for-5 at the plate with three RBI’s. Central is now 22 – 11 overall and 14 – 8 in league play. They have won nine straight, and will try to climb the ladder more today with the final two games of the series against the Duhawks. You can hear today’s doubleheader live on 92.1 KRLS and streamed live at KNIAKRLS.com with Cory Houser on the play-by-play. First pitch of game one is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
