Coach Jim Dingeman was very pleased with how his Pella Christian boys’ golf team performed at Oskaloosa Golf for their second meet of the season. The Eagles’ varsity squad won by seven strokes over Dallas Center-Grimes and Oskaloosa in a triangular conference meet. Pella Christian shot a 171 as a team, and were led by Mason Howerzyl’s nine-hole round of 39, followed by Justin Stravers who shot a 41. Howerzyl was the meet medalist while Stravers’ score was good for a tie for second. The Eagles’ girls placed second in their triangular with Newton and Knoxville. The Cardinals won the meet handily, with the Eagles shooting a team score of 248. They were led by Autumn Vos’ 49 and Savanna Baugh with a 53. Full results can be found below. Pella Christian’s boys’ team is 2 – 1 on the season and they will next be at the Knoxville Invitational on Saturday. The girls will be play North Mahaska at Pine Knolls tomorrow.
