Beginning this weekend, a specially wrapped motor coach will travel nearly 2,100 miles promoting more than 60 tourism destinations in 33 counties and 46 communities across Iowa in an Epic Iowa Road Trip. The effort, a partnership among several Iowa tourism groups, is meant to showcase and recognize Iowa’s travel destinations. The Epic Iowa Road Trip will take place May 2-10. This Saturday, the bus will make a stop in Pella for Tulip Time festivities.

The bus will also make stops in Knoxville to tour Slideways, Peace Tree Brewing, The National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum, and the Knoxville Raceway. Bob Baker, Executive Director of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum, tells KNIA KRLS News that this is a group travel industry specialists who write to get the word out about what fun things there are to do here in Marion County. He says that evening, they will attend the races, watching from the second floor of the Hall of Fame.
